Day Club

Our “Terrific Tuesdays” and “Terrific Thursdays” Day Club program provides cognitive and social stimulation for individuals in the early or mid-stages of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, as well as a mid-week break for families and caregivers. The program includes fine arts, music, long-term memory trivia, discussion, chair exercises, and a hot lunch on a weekly theme each week.

Research proves cognitive and social stimulation improves mood and cognition and delays regression of daily living activities for individuals with dementia. This means families and caregivers are able to delay placement at residential facilities and continue to provide care at home. With our Day Club, caregivers also benefit from the break during the week to recharge, relax, build relationships with friends, maintain their own health and personal care, and more!

Participants should have the ability to feed themselves, be mobile, and be able to toilet independently. Also, Day Club staff and volunteers are not authorized to administer medications.

The cost for Day Club is $40 per session. A financial assistance program is available, if needed.

Contact the Jamie Huff at the Alliance office at (903) 509-8323, or jamie@alzalliance.org to register or to volunteer for this program.
